MoU with Ministry of Education
On the 4th of October a Memorandum of Understanding was signed with the Ministry of Education, on cooperation to built schools for Bushmen children.
Last week an significant event took place in our ambitious initiative to build five lower primary schools in the Nyae Nyae Conservancy. An important Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture and the Ju/’hoansi Development Fund under the slogan Save the San, outlining the duties of both parties in working together on education for young San Bushmen children.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture, Sanet Steenkamp, says: “The Ministry of Education, Arts and Culture are extremely excited to be part of this partnership and pledges its continued support towards educating the San learners. Plans are underway to improve the transition from primary to secondary with the extension of mother-tongue curriculum at some schools to include grade 5 to grade 7.”
